Other Organisations

As well as our tandems, that are free to borrow from us and details of which you can find on our homepage, there are other organisations that hire or lend bikes and/ or give rides to people with special needs.  The list below runs roughly north-south in the UK.

Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England

Gloucestershire Borrowers

Borrowers in the Stroud District might find the Stroud and District Access Group website interesting.   You might also try searching on the following sites:

Glosfamilies, Wheels for Action & Bike for all

You might like consider riding in the Special Olympics.

TomCat sell a range of bikes for disabled people including a trailer trike for about £3000.  There are also some great machines sold by Ashfield Special Needs Ltd: I wish we could afford one.  An alternative for people who might not be able to balance on a normal bike saddle might be a back rest on a one of our normal tandems.  Let me know if you know whether this would work.
