Today we decided to do a 10 minute trial ride with him. 4.5 miles later I finally convinced him to reluctantly get off! He absolutely loved it. Thank you so much, this will be life changing. Just a bit of work to do convincing him his feet should stay on the pedals not the frame but he will get there "

We set off at once to the park with the trusty dog teddy riding in the handy back basket. We had lot of fun going round, and around the park. My child cycling with great energy, whilst I steered so we wouldn't crash into the local bobbies on the beat. We also had nice comments from people who loved the tag-along and wished they had their own. Will definitely be heading out again very soon, with trusty dog teddy (Queenie) in tow."
Chris from Burgess Hill
Chris and his wife, Kate, collected one of our Eastbourne based Viking tandems in mid-February 2026. Kate said on Instagram, "It was so nice to be outside cycling together ☺️ the handling was tough to adapt to as it is much heavier and it took a while to get our confidence but actually after about 20 minutes we had it down. It takes a lot of communication but we’re luckily pretty used to that so once people stopped letting their dogs run out in front of us we were grand!"

Sarah from Twyford
Sarah and her partner, Ross, collected our Warwickshire based Univega Sport tandem in late January 2026. She said a couple of weeks later,
"Taking that extra time on the turbo really paid off—the transition to the road felt confident and steady. Despite the cold temperatures, the sun came out and we managed just under an hour's ride to a café before returning; a total of 43km! I really enjoyed the ride and found the rhythm and being outdoors very settling.
One of my intentions is to build confidence in sharing my story and raising awareness of the amazing opportunities available from charities like Charlotte's Tandems! It is very much a work in progress, and I hope to share more photos and videos of our adventures as my confidence builds.
Thanks again for your patience and for the loan of the tandem!
A big thank you to Neil, who suggested an earlier collection. Getting the tandem earlier than expected has been hugely supportive and has helped build confidence. I am looking forward to returning and heading out for some more rides—hopefully, it will be a little warmer!"
