Pippa from Thurlaston
Pippa and her Dad, Andrew, collected our Lancashire based Hase Pino tandem in late-June 2024. Andrew told our Facebook group, "Pippa and I finally got on the Hase Pino for a proper ride, not to Sainsbury’s for ice cream. We went on a gosling hunt. It took till the last mile to find some really cute ones. Now the front brake isn’t rubbing the Pino is really nice to ride although it is more articulated lorry than racing car. Next thing is to work out how to get Pippa to pedal more. She can’t pedal as fast as me so never catches up to get any resistance (there is a freewheel between the front and rear cranks). Thank you Charlotte's Tandems Pippa is enjoying tandems again and hasn’t mentioned being uncomfortable once."

Jack's friend, Darren, collected our Shropshire based Orbit tandem in late-June 2024. Ray, our Shropshire Helper, told our Facebook group at the start of July, "Here’s Jack from Oswestry taking part in a round Snowdonia adaptive cycle expedition with Adaptive Expeditions. Along Lyn Padarn lake and battling up Llanberis Pass. As Shropshire Helper, I had the fantastic opportunity to join Jack for the day. Good luck Jack on your final day."

Fletcher's Dad, Adam, collected our Sheffield based KHS Sausage Dog tandem in mid-June 2024. the next day Adam wrote, "We had a ride today, which was fantastic. I will post a picture on the Facebook page shortly". His Mum, Sheryl, wrote on our Facebook group the next day, "Fletcher's first test ride of the sausage dog. He had a great ride around the cycle circuit and can't wait for the next."

Stathis from Crawley
Stathis and his parents, Alexandra and George, collected our Eastbourne based Landescape tandem in mid-June and are its first Borrowers. It is probably the third tandem that they have borrowed from us. Note in the photo that they have put the front wheel on the wrong way round. They have now put it right.

Lilly and her Dad, Paul, collected our Berkshire based Timberline tandem in mid-June 2024. They returned it in late-July. John, our Berkshire Helper said, "She now has the confidence riding on a tandem to start riding on her solo bike, they found not surprisingly that she had grown so have invested in a larger second hand bike. The tandem experience has been a success." Paul said, "hopefully you can see how happy she is."

Carys and her Dad, Jon, collected our newly donated Thorn Bicycles Raven Discovery tandem in mid-June 2024.. The photo shows them disassembling it to go in their car. They have been using one of our Dawes Super Galaxy tandems for the past four years. They love the new tandem.

Libby and her Dad, Lee, collected our Gloucestershire based Weehoo Two tag-along in mid-June 2024. Her Mum, Jodie, wrote in late-July, "Unfortunately she wasn’t comfortable as there is nowhere to rest her feet (the pedals were too high and feet kept slipping off). She kept putting her feet on the ground. We also found it very difficult to manoeuvre given her size/weight, even without her little brother on the back. We are very thankful for having been given the opportunity to try it out"

Rylee and his Mum, Debbie, collected our Midlothian based Viking Valhalla tandem in June 2024. She posted on our Facebook group in mid-June 2024, "First outing on our borrowed tandem and he absolutely loved it. Thank you so much Charlotte's Tandems!"

Jacob's Grandad collected our Liverpool based Draisin wheelchair tandem trike in mid-June 2024. Jacob and his Mum, Rachel, are its first Borrowers. Rachel wrote the next day, "I will get more (photos) when I can. He loved it!" Later she added, "He seems very excited to go on an adventure in it soon"

Andy collected our Glasgow based Viking Regency tandem in mid-June 2024. This is the second time that he has borrowed a Glasgow based tandem. Here he is at the campsite that they stay at every year.

Erin's Dad, Jim, collected our Liverpool based Dawes Two Way tandem in mid-June 2024. He reported that day, "I cycled to work on it today, picked Erin up from school on the way back and we rode part of the way home. Cycle shorts are in the post and we're looking forward to some more riding. I've not joined the Facebook group yet but plan to either do that or send you some snaps. Thanks for setting up and running the charity"

Bobby and his parents collected Twinny, our Gloucestershire based Van Raam tandem trike in early June 2024. His Mum, Olivia, needs more practice steering it, as it is very different to riding a bike. Bobby loved his test ride with Alex and Olivia has posted a video of it on our Facebook group.

Oliver and his Mum, Susannah, collected our Cambridgeshire based Bob Jackson tandem in early June 2024. Susannah told our Facebook group the next day, "Thank you for our new borrow. Oli's verdict is it's good, but makes his bum hurt so think we might need to invest in some padded shorts! Thank you Charlotte's Tandems!"

We had our first venture out this weekend. Bella loved it. I have attached a photo of us on our first attempt. We look forward to future family outings now that we have braved the first ride."
John from the Forest of Dean
John and Sue collected Charlotte's own Viking Saratoga tandem at the start of June 2024. They have their own tandem, but now that John is losing his sight he can't pilot it, so they've had to switch around. As you can see from the photo, Sue is not as tall as John.
