Elodie and her Mum, Michelle, collected our Northern Ireland based Viking Pink Link tandem in late-April 2023. Michelle said in early May, "A big thank you to Charlottes Tandems for the loan of the fabulous Pink Link tandem. Elodie is 12 and was born with underdeveloped eyes, she has been blind since she was a little baby. She has been able to learn to cycle a standard bicycle, and up until recently we had to run bedside her to guide and keep her safe. We were no longer able to keep up with her and she was getting upset and frustrated. We had been thinking of getting her a Tandem bike. We found out about Charlotte's Tandems which have bikes for loan across the UK. We were put in touch with a local helper and a few days later we were able to collect a loan Tandem. So that’s when we got the fabulous Pink Link, we have had so much fun on it. Elodie was a bit unsure of it to start, but is now out nearly every day for a cycle. I love seeing her brother (Finn) taking her out for a short adventure."

Farah from Sheffield
Farah and Bob collected one of our Sheffield based Hase Pino tandems in mid-April 2023. Bob wrote in mid-June, "Thank so much for the loan of the bike. We really appreciate it and are enjoying trips out on the tandem. The Pino works very well for us. Before we got the tandem Farah couldn’t go out cycling at all. Now it is possible for us to enjoy cycling together, something not possible with any other bike as Farah’s back problems mean that she can’t sit on a normal bike seat.
So far we’ve used the Pino on the Monsal Trail, just down the road from us, and we took it on a long weekend away to Anglesey and rode on the woodland trails near Newborough beach.
We’ve picked up the basics of handling the bike quite quickly and we’re building up the confidence to get out on the road.
A benefit we hadn’t expected is that because Farah doesn’t have to pedal, we can go a lot further knowing she can take it easy and enjoy the view. Thank you so much for making this possible. "
