Thomas' Teacher, Angus, collected our newly donated Surrey based Thorn tandem in mid-November 2018. Angus said on Twitter, "A huge thank-you to @CharlottesTand for the loan of two tandem bicycles. Going the extra mile to increase opportunities at the Academy, and support those with physical disabilities. More students can now join in the weekly MTB club." Here they are near Portland Bill.
George from Berkshire
George's Dad, Lee, collected our Surrey based Shimano tandem in mid-November 2018. He wrote in April 2019, "Sorry for the delay, he’s been extremely resistant to the idea, and flatly refused every time, so it’s taken many attempts to get him on it. We had a concerted family go and he finally gave in with sufficient peer pressure, but still was very reluctant & got off several times before we got going. Attached is the “success” photo, as you can see it’s a very natural happy smile, clearly it was worth all the effort, over a very long period! Thanks.
I have titled this with what I was saying at the time “You’re not holding on to the brake are you George?” (It’s quite obvious that he was, as I was really struggling!)
Since the first few successful goes, he’s even happy with his sister as driver, so that’s a massive step, thank you for the loan. I’m hoping we’ll have a lot more outings before long."

Shaun and his Mum, Sarah, collected our Shropshire based Weehoo tag-along in early November 2018. Ray, our Shropshire Helper said on our Facebook site, "Before the hire Sarah said, 'what an amazing thing you do. I am so excited to let him experience a bike. He uses a trailer at the moment but I want him to be more involved if that makes sense'. Certainly does.
Sarah now says 'It is amazing!!! He absolutely loves it. I am struggling to get a good photo as he strops every time we stop! I have attached the best of a bad lot! When I get a better one I’ll send to you. Thankyou so much x' It's a perfectly good photo, Sarah, but of course, we love to receive more updates! Happy cycling and I love Shaun's helmet by the way."
