Hazel said later that day, "Technically he can ride a bike independently, but having broke a few bones, we’re hoping the tandem might rebuild his confidence. Collected the tandem from Alex this morning and by lunchtime we’d rode to football training and back. #winning #autism "

Ruth and her Mum, Anna, collected our newly donated Devon based Tomcat in December 2022. Here she is trying out the solo trike format and they hope to try out the tag-along format soon. "This weekend Lanny and I were delighted to collect this Thorne Kiddiback from Charlotte's Tandems and this is our first time trying it out. Alex was lovely, clicked with all three of our kids, and explained things well - even my ADHD brain took it all in. Peter said soon after, "We tried out the tandem last Sunday in the local car park and it was great – no problems at all. We intend going out for a ‘proper’ ride this Sunday to see Caitlin’s Grandad (who used to own a tandem and is keen to see the bike). My wife Anita found out about Charlotte's Tandems via Facebook so she will probably post photos this way.
Caitlin is very excited and much happier when she is outside. She left school this year and now goes to a special college that prepares students for future employment; it is a fantastic place however they don’t do much sport so hopefully cycling will replace the sports she was doing at school."

Abigail, Nicholas and their Mum, Louise, have had our Warwickshire based Circe Helios tandem since the end of September 2022. Louise told our Facebook group, "We picked up a tandem yesterday and we've had a try this morning. Both my children are autistic. My eldest is 11 and has only expressed interest recently in learning how to ride a bike. So, when I saw Charlotte's Tandems, I thought I've got to give this a try as it may help my eldest feel more comfortable and improve his balance."

This is him and his carer at the beginning of a ride along one of the lovely cycle trails here in Norfolk before lunch at a pub. Sounds like a perfect day."

His Mum, Manjiri, wrote in March 2023, "Please find the attached photo of him with his Dad riding tandem. He loved it. Unfortunately, due to winter and being out of the country during December, he couldn't ride much. But normally he rides once a week. It's very kind of you to lend it to us for so much longer. Really appreciate it!"

Amie reported a couple of weeks later, "Jeffrey definitely is with Eric now and after purchasing a few extras to make it safer for Eric to use, and getting our risk assessments and support plans in place, he has today had his first ride and he thoroughly enjoyed it".

Zac and his Mum, Sarah, collected our Berkshire based Hase Pino tandem in early September 2022. This is the second time that they have borrowed this tandem from us. Sarah told our Facebook group in early January 2023, "We really enjoyed borrowing the Pino again thank you. Lots of exercise and laughter and most importantly getting out of the house."
