Joey from Preston
Joey, along with three siblings, Mum and Dad, came to try Tandem Riding with David, our Lancashire based Helper in October 2018. David said, "At first he was not at all sure of trying a two seater bike. We started with a very slow ride, with Mum holding one hand walking alongside; I found it quite difficult riding like that, so Mum held Joey's hand instead. Our second trip went better, by now my new stoker was using two hands to hold on with and we gathered speed, until we got a puncture. A quick trip back home to clear some space in the car and Dad returned for the bike.
We received this message from Joey's parents; "Thank you very much for lending us the tandem. David was very helpful. We picked up the bike today and had our first family bike ride this afternoon. Joey really enjoyed it. It was a dream come true for us, all to be out on bikes together as a family. Bike helmets required before our next trip."

This is something we have not been able to do for years as Joseph can not ride a bike on his own. After a ‘little’ anxiety at first he really enjoyed the experience and was so keen to beat his sister that he even shocked me by standing up on the pedals at one point, I did make him sit down as soon as realised why the tandem was shaking so much!"
