Her Mum, Gemma wrote, "It’s the first chance we’ve had to ride it properly today and it’s taking a bit of getting used to the manoeuvring but practice makes perfect and Amelia loved being up high so she can nose at everything as she goes past!'

Myself with my daughter Charlotte. Just brilliant to be able to go out as a family with my husband and two brothers alongside. Just need some nice weather back. Thank you ‘Charlotte's Tandems’ x"

I’m still getting used to it, but it was a real pleasure to be able to be part of the family ride today. The pictures are a little quirky as they were taken by my excited little lad who was very pleased not to have to leave mummy behind today. Thank you."

Sarah wrote to our Facebook group, "A massive thank you to Charlotte’s Tandems for the hire of this trike. Harry loves it, just wish it wasn’t quite so windy as he doesn’t understand we can’t go out on it today This means so much to us to be able to enjoy a family activity and help Harry with his ongoing development. Lily-Rose and her Mum, Jenni, collected our Manchester based red Thorn Voyager Kiddyback tandem in mid-August 2020 and are its first Borrowers. Jenni wrote to our Facebook group, "Hi, just letting you know we've had a little ride out today to practice but forgot to take photos in the excitement of it all. Lily-Rose took to it pretty much straight away and was singing when we were near the end of the ride. Thanks so much, it was lovely to be able to go for a ride as a family."

Bobby and his Sister have had our Warwickshire based blue Orbita tandem since mid-August 2020. Our Warks Helper, Simon, posted a video of them in action and wrote to our Facebook group, "Here's me, riding with Bobby who has just borrowed a tandem from us. Bobby will be riding with his sister Manjit and nephew in the future, but he went out for a spin with me to find his feet today.

Su and Andrew collected our Warwickshire based Mission Piggyback tag-along trike and Mission backrest in mid-August 2020. Andrew said, "Simon was very helpful and really got us sorted to use his spare bike and tag along for a trial ride, thank you very much!
I work weekends but we have been for a few miles today and made some adjustments to set up the bike. The piggyback is a good size and works well for Su. We are planning a longer trip on Wednesday and will send some pictures, trust the weather holds out."

Nancy is our first Borrower in the US and therefore Mark's first Borrower too. She first tried out his own Cannondale and may become the first Borrower of our Fuji Absolute 4.2 tandem. Here she is trying out the Cannondale in early August 2020.

Simon and Sarah collected our newly acquired Manchester based KHS tandem in mid-August 2020. In mid-September Sarah wrote to our Facebook group, "Well, we’ve tried very hard but unfortunately the tandem life is not for us. Simon has no hearing or balance following a battle with bacterial meningitis in December, so we thought a tandem might be a way to get him back on family bike rides. However, his lack of balance and our mismatched sizes has made it too tricky. Can’t thank Charlotte’s Tandems enough for giving us the chance to have a go. We hope the next borrowers have more success- although our 12 year old son LOVES having a little go on it!" The photo shows the rear saddle down low for their son and they were going to try our tandem trike next.

Will and Clare collected our Manchester based Orbit Velocity tandem in early August 2020. They had previously donated a tandem to us, as they thought that they'd never ride again, but Will's condition improved, so they are now able to ride once more.

Alfie an his parents and brother collected our Gloucestershire based Trek tag-along bike in early August 2020. His Dad, Brett, wrote, "We have been getting on well, Alfie really enjoys it, he says he feels safe, hoping its going to encourage him to want to ride his own bike but at the moment he says he prefers the tag along!It is great that I can now take both the boys out on a ride at the same time, before one of them had to stay at home. We have been to see grandparents and also to local parks, thankfully there is a decent network of cycle paths in Swindon. We are very thankful for the loan of the tag along it has made a big difference."

Liz wrote to our Facebook group a month later, "It is perfect for Joseph who has never ridden a bike before. We have been out about 5 times now and have gone from being very nervous to going "as fast a cheetah this afternoon" with laughs of delight! Going to try cycling to school this week and a family bike outing at the weekend. We are so grateful.....Nicola has kindly lent us a bike to attach too as well!"

Charlotte and her Dad, James, collected our Gloucestershire based Schwinn Sierra tandem in early August 2020. Charlotte is a full time wheelchair user, so they put the backrest from her outgrown Tomkat trike onto the tandem. After the photos were taken we put some inverted drop handlebars on the back, to make her sit more upright.

Joel and his Mum, Melissa, borrowed our Gloucestershire based Schwinn Sierra tandem for a day at the start of August 2020. They were on holiday and have our Lincolnshire based Viking Companion tandem back at home. Melissa wrote to our Facebook group, "Well we've peddled right up to sun down today; making the most of a 24hr loan to explore the prettiest country lanes whilst visiting Granddad. Joel was a star.
